Tron (2025 Restoration)
A world inside the computer where man has never been. Never before now.
As Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) searches for proof that he invented a hit video game, he is ‘digitalized’ by a laser and finds himself inside ‘The Grid’, where programs suffer under the tyrannical rule of the Master Control Program (MCP). With the help of a security program called ‘TRON’, Flynn seeks to free The Grid from the MCP. With Bruce Boxleitner, David Warner, Cindy Morgan.
Disney’s restoration team went back to the original 1982 film’s elements, scanning them at very high resolutions. Director Steven Lisberger was closely involved, guiding the process to ensure it matched his original vision, making it a truly authentic restoration resulting in a visually stunning, cleaner, and more vibrant version for modern screens – complete with an updated Dolby Atmos mix.
“A dazzling movie from Walt Disney in which computers have been used to make themselves romantic and glamorous. Here’s a technological sound-and-light show that is sensational and brainy, stylish, and fun.” (Roger Ebert)
“An original and visually stunning piece of science fiction that represents a landmark work in the history of computer animation.” (Rotten Tomatoes)
“For most people, TRON’s importance is as a historical footnote. It’s the Model T of our CGI age. But the film’s fans are passionate ones.” (Entertainment Weekly)
