Hair Of The Bear (Malia Baker Q&A!)

HAIR OF THE BEAR, which premiered at the Windsor International Film Festival, sees Malia Baker (‘Babysitter’s Club’, ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’, DESCENDENTS 4) play Tori, an anxious 16-year-old girl who is self-harming and refusing to go to school. In response, her mother takes her out of her social media-centered life to stay with her French-Canadian grandfather Benoit, Roy Dupuis, (‘La Femme Nikita’, and ‘Shake Hands With The Devil’) in his remote, rustic cabin in Eastern Manitoba. As Tori struggles to adapt to the woodsman ways of her French Canadian grandfather, she ultimately must embrace the outdoors if she is to survive the deadly game of cat and mouse she is thrust into.

The coming-of-age film, shot northeast of Winnipeg, Manitoba, marks the narrative feature debut of Alexandre Trudeau, brother of former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and fellow writer and director James McLellan.

Stick around after the film for an intimate Q&A with lead Malia Baker.
