A Private Life
A Private Life
Two-time Oscar-winner Jodie Foster stars in her first French-language film in Rebecca Zlatowski’s darkly comic, “frisky and feminine” mystery thriller A PRIVATE LIFE. The renowned psychiatrist Lilian Steiner (Foster) mounts a private investigation into the death of one of her patients, whom she is convinced has been murdered. With Daniel Auteuil, Virginie Efira, Mathieu Amalric, Vincent Lacoste, Luàna Bajrami.
“‘A Private Life’ mixes Hitchcockian suspense, glossy aesthetics, and a playful streak of camp into an entertaining if somewhat slight mystery that’s held together by Jodie Foster’s captivating presence.” (Rotten Tomatoes)
“Once one gets past the initial shock, awe and envy of seeing Foster in her first French-speaking leading role, it’s easy to be swept away by the veteran actor’s exquisite, fluent mastery of the language. “ (Salon.com)
