Exit 8 (2025) is a Japanese psychological thriller directed by Genki Kawamura, based on the 2023 viral video game of the same name. It follows a man known as “The Lost Man” (Kazunari Ninomiya) who is trapped in an endlessly looping, sterile Tokyo subway corridor. To escape, he must navigate to “Exit 8” by identifying subtle, surreal anomalies in the environment—turning back if he finds one, and moving forward if it is normal, exploring themes of paranoia, guilt, and social responsibility.
